Abstract: The phenomenon of magnetic quantum oscillations in the superconducting stateposes several questions that still defy satisfactory answers. A keycontroversial issue concerns the additional damping observed in the vortexstate. Here, we show results of \mu SR, dHvA, and SQUID magnetizationmeasurements on borocarbide superconductors, indicating that a sharp dropobserved in the dHvA amplitude just below H {c2} is correlated with enhanceddisorder of the vortex lattice in the peak-effect region, which significantlyenhances quasiparticle scattering by the pair potential.
