Abstract [en] : This essay is an analysis of censorship in reference to literature. The aim was to examine different elements of censorship in reference to the Marquis De Sade’s book 120 days of Sodom and to examine how this highly controversial book has been affected by the trends of censorship throughout history. Furthermore, a deeper insight on how censorship has evolved during the past half-century and what elements cause literary works to become banned or censored will be touched upon and evaluated.
