In order to model the complex behaviour o such materials, stress analysis techniques are developed.

Abstract This paper presents the application of the Boundary Element Method for nonlinear time-independent problems. Part of the domain, where the plastic phenomena takes place is discretized into quadratic, quadrilateral, continuous internal cells, in order to obtain the plastic strain.
The plastic analysis is basically applied to metals. The Von Mises yield criterion and strain hardening are used in this analysis.
Numerical results are compared with the solution obtained from the Finite Element Method (FEM) and relevant references. Key words: plasticity, ...
