Abstract

The online content market for news and music ischanging rapidly with the spread of technology andinnovative business models e.g. the online delivery ofmusic, specialised subscription news services. It iscorrespondingly hard for suppliers of online content toanticipate developments and the effects of theirbusinesses. The paper describes a prototype multiagentsimulation to model possible scenarios in thismarket. The simulation is intended for use by businessstrategists and has been developed using aparticipatory, rapid prototyping methodology. Theimplications of the method and the characteristics ofthe domain for the design are considered.
