Abstract : A 2000 multi-exposure photographic plate archive and a 5000 frame CCD archive of longfocus observations of the planetary satellites made at the U.S. Naval Observatory USNO from 1967 to 2003 are described. The photographic program, carried out principally with the USNO 26-inch refractor, targeted the Martian satellites, the Galilean moons of Jupiter and satellites I - VIII of Saturn. The CCD observations were made with the USNO 61-inch astrometric refl ector and targeted the faint inner satellites. Improvement of published ephemerides and support for NASA spacecraft encounters were the leading motivations for the observations. The plate archive has been loaned to the IMCCE for remeasurement with the new ROB digitizer and reduction with modern star catalogues.
