Abstract : Between the very high energy regime E > 200 MeV-N where the energy deposited by the projectile into the target nucleus propagates behind the incoming particle at the velocity of sound and the low energy regime E < 40 MeV-N where partial equilibrium might be reached, we predict the appearance of a new class of phenomena. The density dependent single particle well has a repulsive edge in the double density region. This moving edge pushes the target nucleons in the foward direction at very high velocity twice the velocity of the incoming particles. This tidal bore produces nuclear matter which propagates ahead of the projectile, may create pions or be ejected.
