Hicks holds a B.Sc.
in Engineering from the University of Guelph and a Masters in Public Management from the University of Alberta.
Prior to being appointed Deputy Minister of Executive Council, Ron served as Deputy Minister of Alberta Intergovernmental and Aboriginal Relations, Alberta Human Resources and Employment and Alberta Environment.
Ron is an Executive Professor at the University of Alberta’s School of Business specializing in public sector leadership, governance and public service renewal.
