Abstract: Masters thesis. Presents data regarding trade at the Hudson-s Bay Company fort at Churchill from 1717 to 1774 and relates the data to the problem of ascertaining the region of occupancy of the Chipewyan Indians at the time of contact and their involvement in the fur trade. Includes a detailed description of the accounting system used by the Hudson-s Bay Company.
