Cosmological models with a large cosmological constant are unstable dueto quantum critical fluctuations at the de Sitter horizon. Due to thisinstability the space-time in these models will quickly evolve into aFriedmann-like expanding universe containing dark energy stars and radiation.In this paper it is pointed out that this provides a simple explanation forboth the observed radiation entropy per gram of dark matter and the level oftemperature fluctuations in the cosmic microwave background. A novel predictionis that large dark energy stars provide the seeds for the formation ofgalaxies.
