Fulton County, Georgia is developingcomprehensive water resources management plans forits watersheds based on water reclamation facilityWRF service areas, including Big Creek, CampCreek, Deep Creek, Johns Creek, Little River, andSandy Springs. The Water Resources ManagementPlans WRMPs are required by the County’s NationalPollutant Discharge Elimination System NPDESpermit for the Camp Creek WRF expansion and theCounty’s stormwater NPDES permit. Camp Dresser andMcKee Inc. CDM prepared the Big Creek WRMP.The management plans are addressing water qualitychemistry, habitat protection, water supply protection,flooding, and erosion to develop a sustainable waterresources plan. The plans will include solutions toexisting problems and fair and equitable developmentcriteria to avoid problems from occurring in the future.CDM has also contributed to the Volume 1 ExecutiveSummary and Volume 2 Methodology. These volumescontain summaries of the public information andinvolvement, data collection, infrastructure inventory,watershed characterization, hydraulic modeling, waterquality modeling, and WRMP efforts.This paper presents an overview of the programgoals, constraints, data evaluations, computer analysistools, and recommended management plan componentsfor a sustainable stream.
