The surgical management of vascular complication withEhlers-Danlos Syndrome type IV EDS-IV is extremely challenging because ofits tissue or organ fragility including arteries. Less traumatic maneuvers anddevices have been recommended to perform the endovascular treatment for thevascular lesion of EDS-IV, although the endovascular procedure is less invasivethan surgical intervention. We report a 23-year-old man with EDS-IV sufferedfrom left posterior tibial arterial rupture. We performed internal trappingof the ruptured segment using detachable coils with a standard technique viathe contralateral femoral artery puncture. The patient was discharged withoutany complication associated with the endovascular procedure. Embolization by abasic technique, performed with greatest care, is a safe and useful treatment optionwhich we radiologists should try for managing EDS-IV patients.
