Abstract: We report measurements of the Fermi surface FS of the ternary phosphideSrFe$ 2$P$ 2$ using the de Haas-van Alphen effect. The calculated FS of thiscompound is very similar to SrFe$ 2$As$ 2$, the parent compound of the hightemperature superconductors. Our data show that the Fermi surface is composedof two electron and two hole sheets in agreement with bandstructurecalculations. Several of the sheets show strong c-axis warping emphasizing theimportance of three-dimensionality in the non-magnetic state of the ternarypnictides. We find that the electron and hole pockets have a differenttopology, implying that this material does not satisfy a nesting condition.
