Abstract: For 2+2-dimensional nonholonomic distributions, the physical informationcontained into a spacetime pseudo Riemannian metric can be encodedequivalently into new types of geometric structures and linear connectionsconstructed as nonholonomic deformations of the Levi-Civita connection. Suchdeformations and induced geometric-physical objects are completely determinedby a prescribed metric tensor. Reformulation of the Einstein equations innonholonomic variables tetrads and new connections, for instance, withconstant coefficient curvatures and-or Yang-Mills like potentials revealshidden geometric and rich quantum structures. It is shown how the Einsteingravity theory can be re-defined equivalently as certain gauge models onnonholonomic affine and-or de Sitter frame bundles. We speculate on possibleapplications of the geometry of nonholonomic distributions with associatednonlinear connections in classical and quantum gravity.
