Abstract: We reinterpret anomaly-mediated supersymmetry breaking from a field-theoreticperspective in which superconformal anomalies couple to either the chiralcompensator or the $U1 R$ vector superfield. As supersymmetry in the hiddensector is spontaneously broken by non-vanishing vacuum expectation values ofthe chiral compensator F-term and-or the $U1 R$ vector superfield D-term, thesoft breakdown of supersymmetry emerges in the visible sector. This approach isphysically more understandable compared with the conventional approach wherethe chiral compensator is treated on the same footing as a spurion ingauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking scenario.
