Abstract: We analyze the sequence of polynomials defined by the differential-differenceequation $P {n+1}x=P {n}^{\prime}x+xn+1P {n}x$ asymptotically as$n\to\infty$. The polynomials $P {n}x$ arise in the computation of higherderivatives of the inverse error function $\operatorname{inverf}x$. We usesingularity analysis and discrete versions of the WKB and ray methods and givenumerical results showing the accuracy of our formulas.
