Some of them are positives, others negatives; the true is that our world is changing with an unusual rapidity, to such a point that hampers us to predict with some certainty, even the immediate future. In this process, the economic integration is playing a main role.
Jean Monnet and Robert Schuman, ideologists of the European integration process, insisted, such as facts have stated, that the unification process among nations with strong historical and cultural differences, as the European case, should be carried out in a first stage from the economic integration.
If the nations achieve to conciliate economic interests to cooperate, the aspiration towards the political unification has largely solved. In addition to any political purpose, the fact is that the economic dynamics of the contemporary capitalism is demanding to the national economies, the search for alliances, in order to extend the markets and the competitiveness, in increasingly selective sphere. Our Latin-American environment is not foreign to these phenomena and challenges.
