Method: the Rodgers’ concept analysis provided the procedural mechanisms to guide the study, and an integrative review was performed to achieve the second activity of the model adopted.
The PubMed, CINAHL, EMBASE and LILACS databases were selected to search for primary studies.
Results: sixty-six primary studies were included and served as basis to construct the use and meaning of delayed surgical recovery concept.
In the analysis, six attributes were outlined, which are interrelated and underpin the research concept definition.
