Abstract : In this paper, we present a new approach for time-resolved measurements of wall deformation in human arteries using MRI and we prove its feasibility on an example. The purpose of the approach is to derive the local elastic properties of the carotid artery. Repeatable results obtained on two volunteers point out the promising potential of this approach for investigating the mechanics of arterial tissues in vivo.
