Making progress: UKCIP & adaptation in the UK
Abstract: The UK Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP) was established by the UK Government in 1997, who awarded the contract for co-ordinating research into the likely impacts of climate change in the UK to the Environmental Change Institute at the University of Oxford. It was originally established to provide decision-makers with information on climate change impacts, and did not have a remit to consider adaptation to climate change.
