Analysis of sparse systems

Abstract: The aim of this thesis is to conduct a general investigation in the fieldof sparse matrices, to investigate and compare varioustechniques for handling sparse systems suggested in the literature,to develop some new techniques, and to discuss the feasibility ofusing sparsity techniques in the solution of overdetermined equationsand the eigenvalue problem.
