I have not researched and checked every assertion by the author. This book was published 5 years before discovery of the electron.

The author and his contemporaries were like fifteenth century sailors.
They had a good idea of their latitude and direction (Ampere, Kirkoff, Maxwell, Gauss, Faraday, Edison, ), but only the vaguest notion of their longitude (nuclear structure, electrons, ions). Altitude (special relativity, quantum theory) was not even imagined.
